GFI owns two brick manufacturing plants, www.CloudCeramics.com in Concordia, Kansas and www.KansasBrick.com in Hoisington, Kansas. These two plants, situated on the Dakota Clay Deposit, produce a large variety of colors, shapes and sizes of brick.
As a long time customer of webEprint, GFI came back to us in 2006 to re-create their on-line image. Our goal for the site was to let their brick sell itself through quality images, prominent page placement, and unique features such as downloadable architect's tiles.
The first step was to re-shoot their bricks and lay them out into composites that allow different grout colors to display on the web using Java Script or in architectural renderings using CAD. Next we organized their structures so they display alongside the brick, showing what the brick looks like in an actual building. Finally we added PDF generation to allow "virtual samples" of their brick to be printed, reducing postage costs.
